Naissaar_island_lighthouse With the Naissaar travel package, you can head directly from the centre of Tallinn to a completely different world of untouched nature and centuries-old history.

Naissaar has been an important maritime location since the thirteenth century. Various rulers have built forts here, and today, Naissaar features Estonia’s own tiny ‘Angkor Wat’, with its scenic and massive fort ruins overgrown with vegetation. The Naissaar lighthouse boasts spectacular views from its top. The ruins are located 7 km away from the harbour and you will be transported there with a military vehicle.

In the past, Naissaar served to protect Tallinn against seaborne invasions and later became a popular travel destination. Proud Swedish-born islanders, who earned their livelihood as helmsmen and seal hunters and offered refuge for the local pirates, used to inhabit the island. After World War II, the island became a Soviet naval base closed to the public.
You can find unique historical monuments of the military period and pre-war island life on the island.

Naissaar_travel A ferry trip to Naissaar takes only 60 minutes.
In the summer period, ferries depart daily from Lennusadam in Tallinn.

You can choose between various travel packages for exploring the island. One-day cruises will take you to the main attractions of Naissaar and you can choose between two tour packages. However, Naissaar is worth further exploring. We recommend taking your bicycle with you and staying on Naissaar overnight so you would have enough time for exploring all the exciting places and relaxing on the beautiful sandy beach.
